Plan your schedule accordingly because complete rest for over a week is recommended.

If you are on any regular medication, discuss about it with your physician.

After taking the injection apply ice thoroughly on the part to avoid swelling.

Don’ts

If you are consuming tablets like Aspirin, Ibuprofen, and Aleve to prevent your blood clotting. Make sure that you don’t consume those tablets at least 1 week prior to the injection.

Avoid taking Herbal supplements like ginseng, Vitamin E, and John’s Wort.

Stop drinking alcohol 3 days before the injection.

Don’t indulge in heavy physical workouts because it may have adverse effects on the surgery.

After injection, ensure that your skin doesn’t get exposed to sunlight for at least 2 days.

Don’t apply makeup to your skin for a minimum period of 2 days after injection.

The day of treatment

Do ensure your face is free from oil and dirt. Clean yourself properly before going to the hospital and leave your skin without any makeup.  

Don’t panic while your physician applies an anesthetic drug. This gives a numb feeling in order to minimize the pain during the procedure.

How to reduce swelling?

This is one of the most commonly asked questions post-procedure. Consume Arnica and avoid supplements that thin your blood. Gently massage the area using ice and keep yourself hydrated.

Don’t apply much pressure on the skin because post the procedure your skin will be super sensitive.

Wearing hats is not recommended since it adds some sort of weight to the neck portion.

How to reduce bruising?

Never attempt to consume alcohol and green tea at any cost. Include freshly cut pineapple in your diet. Because pineapple has bromelain which helps to reduce bruising.

Recovery phase

This phase is very subjective, as the period varies according to the medical condition, history of every patient. But generally, it is advisable to stay idle without indulging in any sort of activities that require physical movement.
